thanks for the info Wayne iv got my vespatronic ready to go on i think ill have to try the barrel reverse and normal, i dont mind making a new manifold i would like it to not stand outside the bodywork which would be a challange also not sure on what exhaust to use, was thinking of the cagiva one iv got, its an arrow system so its lighter than original and bigger bore from the barrel, just dont want to chop it up
has anyone ever seen this before? « Result #3 Today at 7:48pm »
Got this cut down 50 spesh frame off a guy the other day - mainly because it's got a v5 and for £80 it's a bit of fun. When I picked it up he mentioned that the guy he got it from (in Dorset) used to race it as is (but with wheels and engine) in the 80's, with a 135 motor in it. does any one remember it? And if so any history with it or photos? I think a might be building a racer !

I think what max is trying to say is that engines should be able to suck fuel from the carb of the correct size, rather than use something too big for the job. it will do doubt work with the 30mm carb but the probally wont work successfully. Ive know people use 28mm carbs on DRs and that is pushing it.

man you got to much time on your hands iwas lookin through this thread again and seen you plan to replace your speedo, can i have your old one to fill the hole in my head set? doesnt matter if it works or not it,ll keep the rain out.
Actually, my ears pricked up at the sound of a banana exhaust... If you don't want it I'll give you a few pennies for it to be put towards the above list, if you want? (Provided it has joint pipe, spring, mouning plate etc.)
Thought you had a pipe sorted for your 50 spesh Oli? yeah my pipe's complete, I don't know whats going on at the mo, but if I do move it on- I'll pass on to you chap
paul ill make you a non indicator non battery loom if you want ive gotta do mine so i could do them together. ive never made an indicator battery loom before tho you gave me a stator you donut but i still have the butchered px one i got off max, dunno if it fits ok i didnt try but if you have a points backplate the laminates should go on it with some bodgery
Yeah I know Jonny though that stator I let you have was sort of a swapsey so the engine case. Loom wise its not really suitable for the PK frame though cheers for the offer. I'd be interested in the stator though chap
Hey Paul - seeing as the V90 is nearly finished, why don't you keep that for yourself. You could then wrap up all the PK bits you have already and give them to Lisa as a sort of late Christmas/early birthday present. I'm sure she'd be glad of a new project to get stuck into.
Alternatively, pack in the smokes and you'll soon have a bit more free cash for scooter parts....
Ah its always the ex-smokers eh? I did think of doing that Tom, though I don't think Lisa would be too impressed

Right,
Have spent waaay too much money trying to recreate the rear badge!!!
One more session to put the black indent paint on then a clear varnish and I'm done with the rear badge. I have two at the moment, thinking of making a third...
The original badge (Thanks Tom, yours should be with you tomorrow!) was imprinted into clay, then baked in the oven on a curved surface to replicate the curve of the body. I then mixed up Alumilite 2 part clear resin and cast each badge for 36 hours. They are slighly flexible, more so with added heat. Then ground down on a bog standard drill and sanding disc, fine sanded with 800 / 1200 grit water paper. Sprayed with an airbrush, humbrol paints. Whole process, 4 days per badge!
Max: When is your shed free!?!?! Need to start that lump of mine!
Hi Max, I think I would like to do it with a spare set of casings as a project really then as work is needed or repairs/ improvements I still have a running and fairly fast motor too, or alternatively when the engine is complete, sell mine and do another, not decided yet but want an alloy based firebreathing kit next, that I am defo interested in, what you want with my Polini anyway? You got that mallossi now set up by Tony havnt you U any better? Hi Unreliablesc, what did you think of the M1L kit and have you changed? What set up did you run with it please, cheers Iain. Is anyone else running this kit at the moment or has anyone any thoughts or opinions on it or which kit would you go for?
